When I began an apprenticeship in 1999 with a master glass artist, I hardly knew that the skills I learned then would grow into a 13 year passion and my primary business. The journey has included two “lampworking” glass studio/store fronts in Los Angeles, a relocation to the Pacific Northwest and a successful nationwide business. Today Namaste Glass exists as a private, full time glass studio in rural Cottage Grove, Oregon. The designs and creations represented in my work are a reflection of the natural environment around me. I combine contemporary ideas with strong traditional techniques. From glass earrings that are simple and elegant to detailed paperweights that replicate an ocean side tide pool, my work is accomplished with ingenuity and attention to detail.
Namaste Glass has made the crucial move toward more sustainable business practices, including the use of 100% Wind Power to run our studio and our home. We have made the pledge to buy local and/or handmade components whenever possible. We re-purpose the scrap materials in our studio so that nothing is left behind, embodying the organic feel that is hand crafted glass.
I am a member of GAS, the Glass Artists Society, Orbit Artist Co-op and PICC (Pacific Indie Craft Collective). Being involved with my family, in my local community and with industry peers is part of what makes what I do so inspiring.
